Late Late Rock Show
"Downward Is Heavenward"
It feels good to (again) be the host of The Late Late Rock Show! I’ve been in radio since I started the show in 2003. I can’t believe it’s been that long! In all honesty, I never really thought that it would experience the sort of longevity that’s brought me full-circle and back to hosting it. All these years are a testament to you, the reader of this bio and supporter of the show.
But I’ve loved music, rock music, as long as I can recall. I risk dating myself, but I remember a friend in middle school who let me listen to their Smashing Pumpkins “Gish” cassette, and another friend who loaned me a copied cassette of Fugazi’s “13 Songs.” I remember Drew from Unicorn Records recommending Quicksand, Pond and The Posies to me. And I remember hearing HUM’s “You’d Prefer An Astronaut” for the first time with my buddy, Clair. Those people and albums are all so profound to me; they represent a time, place and feeling that I’ll never forget.
My wish for The Late Late Rock Show is that it could be that for someone else; that it could be the bridge between you and something that you could love if only you could hear it for the first time. These days, it’s easier than ever to find something new and inspiring, musically and otherwise, so I dearly appreciate you for listening to and supporting The Late Late Rock Show. I hope it will always have a home on 96X, and I hope to see you all soon.
